A New Book
The end of summer! The end of the book! The book I’ve been writing! The book I’ve been living!
It’s not a new chapter in my life. It’s far more than that. That part of my life is over.
There’s been some good times. But they’ve been outweighed by the bad. And now I’ve finished that book and I’m starting to write the new one.
The one where I’m the protagonist. The one where I direct the action. I decide which characters are going to be in the book. I decide whether they have a big part or a small part. If they’re going to stay till the end or if they’re going to be written out by the end of the first chapter.
This is my book and my story. I’ll walk the paths I’ve never walked before. I’ll open doors that were closed. I’ll enter the rooms they said were only for others. And when I enter those rooms I’ll decide my walls.
